New Innervate: Change Isn't Always Bad

Change to innervate? ZOMG OH NO!

That was my first reaction. I, apparantly, fear change. However, after that brief moment of panic, I sat down to figure out just how much mana we're getting from this skill.

Since it was changed to grant 450% base mana, and a level 80 Druid has 3496 base mana, Innervate should always return 15732 mana by itself. My unbuffed mana pool is about 16551. This would seem an improvement over the other innervate just upon personal return, not to mention it no longer relying upon your target having a large amount of Spirit to function if you're going to hand it out to that silly oom Paladin.

Glyph of Innervate changed a bit, as well. Now it returns 90% of your base mana to yourself if you cast it upon someone else, or combines the 90% with the 450% when cast upon yourself. This means a return of 3146.4 mana to yourself (at 80) when you cast it on someone else, or a total return of 18878.4 mana if cast upon yourself.

I'm definitely liking this.

That made me very happy. Considering I usually don't have too many mana issues in fights this makes innervate more useful to other targets. I'm was commonly known to cast it on our priest healer since I use the glyph because she needed the mana and I could be topped off.
Considering the changes to the base mana pool, this almost makes it useful for other non-spirit based classes like paladins.

It will definitely make our shammie happy, he's the usual recipient of my innervate, but he has so little spirit, it really didnt help him... this is a HUGE improvement.

It is fine... if you have a lower level of spirit. Our guilds druid cranked out the math based on his ulduar spirit gear. He found he was getting around 20k back after the original nerf. This was unglyphed. This also ment he would see greater returns still as his spirit went up in the next tier of gear.
So this is a buff for the utility of the ability. But it's a nerf for endgame raiding druids.

If he was getting back 20k mana between 3.1's spirit change and when 3.1.2 hit, then he needs to lay off the spirit and stop gimping his other stats...

I noticed a big difference in BG's yesterday. My mana topped off in no time. Also, they buffed up food and drinks in Northrend, which is a major plus in long battles like AV.

All I can say is "happy is the paladin who can finally get a benefit from this spell".

Innervate is still a lot better than the priest shadowfiend. Shadowfiend does what it wants and you hope it dies early so you can at least score 5% mana.

I agree that the Innervate change is not a bad thing.
